Capital Jazz

The Big Smoke Jazz Orchestra will bring the swing to Brixton on Thursday 18th May, when it presents its unique blend of Rat Pack-era panache and the finest contemporary big band jazz at one of SW2's newest and most exciting new clubs.

Think Duke Ellington and Count Basie; think Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald. Think Buddy Rich and Pat Metheny. Even think Robbie Williams and Paul McCartney... Then get down to Brixton's Acres for a Thursday night extravaganza filled with top quality big band music.

The band, led by the stage-filling vocal talents of Jonathan Paul Hellyer, has operated in London since 2002, headling the successful Capital Gardens Jazz Festival for three successive years, and drawing hundreds of revellers to its open-air gigs in Trafalgar Square and Soho Square as part of the midsummer 'Jazz on the Streets' Festival.

Don't miss out - admission is free!

Admission free, on stage 8.30pm, 40 Acre Lane, Brixton SW2 5SP
